Food & Thought was born from a summer dedicated to blending my passion for design with my love of culinary arts. During that time, I embarked on a personal research journey, delving into the history and origins of the dishes I created and documenting the results through photography. This project marked my first intentional exploration of the intersection between graphic design and the culinary world—a connection that I hope to continue developing throughout my career.
Through this project, I discovered that my true passion lies in telling the story of food through design. I aim to create work that not only pleases the eye but also deepens our understanding and appreciation of the culinary arts. This project is just the beginning of what I envision as a long-term journey, where food, art, and community come together in meaningful and innovative ways.

This was more than just a summer project—it was a true turning point in my graphic design career. It provided me with a renewed sense of focus and direction, helping me realize that the intersection of food and design is where my true passion lies. This project allowed me to bring together the various skills I had accumulated over the years, including design, cooking, and photography, into a cohesive and purposeful body of work. It was through this fusion that I found my unique voice as a designer, one that seeks to tell the rich, multifaceted stories of food in a way that resonates on both a visual and emotional level.
As I worked on Food & Thought, I began to see how these elements—design, food, and photography—could be more than just individual pursuits. Together, they became a powerful tool for storytelling, a way to connect people with the cultural and historical significance of the dishes we often take for granted. This realization was transformative, as it gave me a clear vision for the future of my career. I understood that my work wasn’t just about creating visually appealing designs, but about using my skills to deepen our collective understanding and appreciation of the culinary arts.

This project was the beginning of a long-term journey where food, art, and community come together in meaningful and innovative ways. The combination of these elements is now the foundation of both my work and myself as a designer. Moving forward, I am committed to continuing this exploration, finding new and creative ways to blend these passions. Food & Thought set the stage for what I hope will be a career dedicated to not just design, but to creating experiences that bring people together, celebrate culture, and inspire a deeper connection to the food we share.
